सर्वप्रथम गणेश पूजन करें। भगवान गणेश को स्नान कराएं। वस्त्र अर्पित करें। गंध, पुष्प, अक्षत अर्पित करें। अब भगवान शिव का पूजन शुरु करें। गृहस्थ जीवन में भगवान शिव की पारद प्रतिमा का पूजन सर्वश्रेष्ठ कहा गया है। सफेद आक या स्फटिक की प्रतिमा का पूजन से भी उत्तम फल की प्राप्ति होती है।

First of all do Ganesh worship. Bath yourself to Lord Ganesha. Offer clothes. Offer odor, floral, intact. Now start worshiping Lord Shiva. In the household life, worship of Lord Shiva's Parad idol is best said. Worship of the statue of white ak or rhinesty is also achieved.

सबसे पहले जिस मूर्ति में भगवान शिव की पूजा की जानी है। उसे अपने पूजा घर में स्थान दें। मूर्ति में भगवान शिव का आवाहन करें। आवाहन यानी कि बुलाना। भगवान शिव को अपने घर बुलाएं। भगवान शिव को अपने घर में सम्मान सहित स्थान देें। यानी कि आसन दें। अब भगवान शिव को स्नान कराएं। स्नान पहले जल से फिर पंचामृत से और वापिस जल से स्नान कराएं।

First of all, the statue of Lord Shiva is to be worshiped. Place him in your worship house. Call Lord Shiva in the idol. Call that call. Call Lord Shiva in your house. Place Lord Shiva in your house with respect. I.e. give asana. Now take a bath to Lord Shiva. Bath before bathing again with water and then take bath with water.

अब भगवान को वस्त्र पहनाएं। वस्त्रों के बाद आभूषण और फिर यज्ञोपवित (जनेऊ) पहनाएं। अब पुष्पमाला पहनाएं। सुगंधित इत्र अर्पित करें। अब तिलक करें। तिलक के लिए अष्टगंध या चंदन का प्रयोग करें। अब धूप व दीप अर्पित करें। भगवान शिव को धतूरा, आक के फूल विशेष प्रिय है। बिल्वपत्र अर्पित करें। 11 या 21 चावल अर्पित करें। श्रद्धानुसार घी या तेल का दीपक लगाएं। आरती करें। आरती के पश्चात् परिक्रमा करें। अब नेवैद्य अर्पित करें। भगवान शिव के पूजन के समय ‘‘ऊँ नमः शिवाय’’ का जप मन में करते रहें।

Now wear clothes to God. Wearing jewelery after yarn and yagnaopvat (Janeu). Wear florer now. Offer fragrant perfumes. Now make the tilak. Use octagon or sandalwood for Tilak. Now offer incense and lamp. Lord Shiva is a specially beloved flower of Dattura, Aak. Offer billpath. Offer 11 or 21 rice. Apply the lamp of ghee or oil as per the word of duty. Make aarti Rotate after Aarti. Now give a sacrifice. At the time of worshiping Lord Shiva, keep repeating "OM Namah Shivaya" in mind.
